Quietly situated between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, the tranquil village of Ravenstonedale lies at the foot of the Howgill Fells. This charming little village is a thriving rural community with many beautifully preserved traditional dwellings. The picturesque Ravenstonedale boasts a lovely parish church as well as the remains of an old Gilbertine Priory. Once a year the area still hosts its annual agricultural show and even now hill farming remains the principal income of the area. A. Wainwright, the famous author, once described the settlement as âone of Westmorland's loveliest villages'. The area provides many excellent walking and cycling routes and nearby, visitors can see the Settle to Carlisle Railway Line, the magnificent Howgill Fells and the stunning Yorkshire Dales, making this a wonderful location no matter what time of year.
