Uttoxeter, a larger town in Staffordshire with more services and a racetrack, is only three miles away from the village. The National Trust's Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood are conveniently located nearby, providing a fascinating look into bygone eras. Ashbourne, a nearby market town famous for its eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, and quaint coaching inns, is also a shopping and dining mecca for antiques enthusiasts, with its many excellent stores and diverse selection of watering holes. Carsington Water, Blithfield Reservoir, and Alton Towers are all within a scenic drive, and the Dove and Manifold Valleys, as well as many other National Trust properties and places of interest, are also close by, making this a wonderful location for relaxation and enjoyment throughout the year.
