A large sandy beach, great for swimming, sunbathing, and watersports, lies right next to this seaside community. The Fairbourne nature reserve is also located here. Barmouth, noted for its pubs, restaurants, and gorgeous beach, is only ten minutes away by rail, or you may take a stroll across the historic Victorian Barmouth Railway Bridge, which offers breathtaking views of the Mawddach Estuary. The entire area is great for hiking, biking, and water activities, and it is brimming with wildflowers and a wide variety of bird species thanks to the area's protected shores and pockets of exposed rock. In addition to the charming towns of Dolgellau and Aberdovey and the majestic sites of mediaeval Harlech Castle, Portmeirion Italianate Village, and the stunning Snowdonia National Park, all of these are within easy driving distance.
