The property

Nestled in the thriving Scottish capital of Edinburgh, Midlothian, is this superb three-bedroom Victorian terrace house, 6 Coltbridge Gardens.

Boasting a superb, central location with easy access to a plethora of activities and attractions, as well as a private multi-level garden which looks over the Water of Leith, 6 Coltbridge Gardens makes for a fantastic dwelling for couples or families who are looking to explore this beautiful city and return to a tranquil oasis at the end of the day.

Step into the spacious sitting room, where you can look forward to lighting the wall-mounted electric fire on cooler evenings, as you snuggle up with your loved ones on the plush sofa and catch up on your favourite shows, courtesy of the TV.

Rustle up luscious home-cooked meals in the well-equipped kitchen, utilising the microwave, electric oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, making for an easy clean up afterwards!

Settle down around the dining table as you savour a tasty meal and look forward to a wonderful getaway.

If the weather is nice, why not make dinner an alfresco affair out in the private garden where you can continue the evening with the soothing sounds of the Water of Leith.

As the evening cools, retreat to the sunroom/snug where you can enjoy your drinks in the warmth.

Completing the ground-floor is a convenient utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and a handy cloakroom.

As your eyes grow heavy, climb the stairs to the first floor, where you will find three tastefully decorated rooms, a king-size with en-suite shower room, a double room and a single, both of which are served by a bathroom.

Prepare for the day in style and head out to explore the vibrant city of Edinburgh, where you can explore the expansive 11th-century Castle which is home to the National War Museum of Scotland and the crown jewels!

Leaving the Castle, walk down the Royal Mile, which will lead you down a bustling street speckled with welcoming eateries and independent shops, the perfect place for grabbing a bite to eat whilst exploring!

Continue down to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where you will find the stunning 16th-century Palace which holds guided tours of the royal reception rooms.

It is here that the Queen stays when she is in Edinburgh.

Opposite the Palace is the Scottish Parliament building, and Dynamic Earth close by.

For the more adventurous, climb the nearby extinct volcano known as Arthur’s Seat.

For a fun-filled family day out, why not head over to Edinburgh Zoo where you can listen to live talks, see the excellent selection of wildlife and enjoy hilltop safari rides.

If you’re looking for a day at the beach, the glorious beaches of Portobello and Musselburgh are just a short drive away, where you can throw down your towel and soak up the sun with your favourite book, paddle the shores or treat your loved ones to a beachside snack as you soak up the views.

Nearer to the house, just a short drive away, are the beaches of Cramond and Silverknowes.

For an unforgettable day trip, take the scenic drive over to Glasgow, well-known for its magnificent cathedral and bustling city which houses a plentiful selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and theatres.

Murrayfield lies just over a mile from the west end of Edinburgh City centre and offers good local shopping at Roseburn with Edinburgh’s West End and city centre within walking distance.

There are many excellent leisure facilities nearby – sports clubs, golf course, Murrayfield Stadium and Murrayfield Ice Rink.

The Water of Leith and Corstorphine Hill provide superb walking spaces.

Frequent bus services are available from the main road a 10-minute walk away.

There is also a reliable taxi company which will collect from the house and take you directly into the centre of town (details of taxi companies are in our local information folder found in the property).

Walk by the Water of Leith and reach the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art on nearby Belford Road.

For a getaway like no other, be sure to choose 6 Coltbridge Gardens as your home-away-from-home.
