  • "We had a lovely stay."

The complimentary treats were a very nice welcome. When we asked for help with the log burner, we didn't wait long and soon enjoyed an open fire. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space. The children enjoyed having their own TV in their room. They also liked the tree house and play area. Our daughter enjoyed her first time in a hot tub. We didn't use it after reading that it might be unsafe for diabetic people. It looked very inviting. The dishwasher was great and gave me a holiday from some usual chores. It was useful to have a washing machine too but the dryer doesn't work. There was a clothes horse to use but it took a long time to dry and I ended up finishing the drying at home. The shower in the wet room was very difficult to control and would go scalding hot with no warning. Turn the dial slightly for cooler water and it would be ice cold. The water escapes past the barrier on to the bathroom floor after a few minutes of use. We didn't use the dining table in the living room because one chair was broken and others felt too wobbly. It would be useful to have two sets of keys when a larger group book the property. The property was cleaned to a basic standard. There were no concerns about hygiene but a detailed clean when out of season might be worth considering. Overall it's a great property in a beautiful, peaceful area. The cottage felt homely and welcoming.
