  • "We loved staying at Heatherdale."

Beautifully clean and it smelt amazing too. Really comfortable and welcoming. Thank you. The only thing was the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't seem to work, and it would be useful to have a stick blender (unless I couldn't find one). Otherwise everything was amazing and we hope to stay again one day. Thank you.

Thank you for your review and positive comments- so glad you enjoyed the house. We will look into getting a stick blender and try and resolve the extractor fan issue; we usually just open the window, which helps. Hope you do come back. Thanks again. Property Owner

The property

This bright and welcoming end of terrace cottage in Treknow, handy for the fine sand and surfing beach at Trebarwith Strand, is filled with interesting prints, pictures and well chosen furniture, creating a lovely, homely atmosphere.

The two bedrooms include a pretty king size double with lovely rural views and a family bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC on the first floor, and a large bright bedroom under the eaves with three single beds on the second floor.

Smart, well-equipped L-shaped kitchen with dining area, ideal for informal family get-togethers and cosy sitting room with wood burning stove and big bay window for those valley views and sea glimpses.

Not suitable for people with limited mobility. Steep stairs (stairgates) from living room up to a very pretty double bedroom (5' bed) with bay window and lovely rural views seaward. Front porch with plenty of room for boots and beach paraphernalia.

Outhouse in the long back garden, handy for storing surfboards.

A lovely, welcoming base for exploring this delightful area of north Cornwall.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

Where you’ll be staying

TREKNOW

Boscastle 4.9 miles; Padstow 19.9 miles

This small village and civil parish lies on the north coast of Cornwall in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, some four miles north-west of Camelford. It boasts a slate quarrying history and was also once home to a small copper mine in the latter years of the 18th century. It has a village hall and small hotel, yet there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, which is dominated by glistening waters, rocky coves and spectacular scenery each way you turn. Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, is merely a stone's throw away, a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. It is littered with pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must for any visitor. The South West Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions, it winds its way along the cliffs, down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the pretty village of Boscastle with its narrow valley leading down towards the raging sea. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude. The vast landscapes of Bodmin Moor, the largest indoor rainforest at the Eden Project and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive, plus the colourful harbour at Padstow beckons with traditional pubs and delicious seafood.

Please Note; Not suitable for people with limited mobility, as steeply sloping, front garden, please take care, torch advisable due to limited lighting from back garden.
