  Cottage was well appointed, comfortable, spotless and equipped with everything you need. Fort William, and the breathtaking Glencoe within a 20 minute drive, great views of Ben Nevis. Great communication with Mike who checked in with us to ensure everything was ok. I will be looking to book another stay in the future.

• "We absolutely loved our stay!"

  The place had everything we needed and was furnished to such a high standard. The kitchen in particular was so well equipped to a standard that is rare in holiday cottages. The whole place was cosy and homely and comfy. It was also so warm which we were worried about as it was freezing and snowing outside! The garden was fantastic and we loved the views and the stars. The view from the garden was spectacular!! The walk to the loch from the house was so lovely. Our 3.5 year old loved playing in the open plan space, and it meant we could all be together. We could even see her playing outside whilst we were cooking and this meant we were all happy! The bath was warm and big enough to relax in. The cottage was ideally located for exploring - with plenty to do within 10-20 minute drives but also further afield. We loved the place so much and we have already booked another visit! Communication with the owners was also fabulous and they left a bottle of fizz and a selection box to celebrate New Year, which was so kind!

• "Had an absolutely wonderful week at Lochy Lookout."

  Located in a beautiful spot along Lochy Loch with stunning views to look out to. The apartment were equipped with everything you could possibly need. Very clean, and spacious. Would recommend getting some descaling tablets for the kettle. Loved the little extras of milk and chocolate tea cakes waiting for us on arrival. Would recommend visiting Fort William, plenty of shops and things to do. Also take a trip to the viaduct to see the Harry Potter train if you’re a fan. If you fancy driving that bit further take a trip to Inverness. Cruise over Loch Ness and visit plenty of shops and distilleries.

• "Beautiful property, a real home away from home."

  Great location, easy access to Fort William and Fort Augustus and good routes to Mallaig, Kyle of Lochalsh and Inverness. The heat pump system means the property stays a good temperature all the time. Wonderful views from the patio doors and the main bedroom, looking out to Loch Lochy and the mountains the other side of the loch, the weather changes the outlook totally and is mesmerising. Great communication with the owners, would highly recommend this property.

• "The property is in a lovely location."

  It is well equipped. General cleanliness was good except underneath on sofa had not been cleaned for some time with a layer of dust & debris. The beds were comfy. The cooker was completely useless, we were unable to boil a pan of water for an egg despite using boiling water from the kettle. ( I have a ceremic/induction hob so am well used to cooking with them). A super Nespresso coffee machine, but no coffee pods, despite them being shown as fully stocked in the photos. Not everybody will be familiar with these machines. At least leave a starter amount in a ‘welcome pack’ to allow visitors to shop That said a pint of milk & 6 tunnocks tea cakes in my opinion is not exactly welcoming! The towels were hard, small & tiired. Surely a decent (man size) bath towels could be supplied?

• "What a view - this has got to be the star aspect of the accommodation … We even saw deer at the edge of the Loch !"

  ! The cottage was very clean and well presented. Lovely decor and all the facilities required for an enjoyable stay. We had an issue with the water pressure from the taps/showers and TV reception on the Saturday night, we called the number given and were told someone would look into it the next day, a Sunday We were out when they came, leaving a note as why we were having an issue - something to do with the ‘bore hole’!!! Anyway - all fixed, we were so pleased to be able to have a shower on our return!! Very swift, effective response to the issue we had - many thanks !! The only negative, but it’s a personal thing, as I have arthritis in my hip - the sofa and chairs outside are particularly low?? Overall a great stay in a beautiful cottage - added bonus was the amazing weather we had last week !! We would certainly recommend the cottage to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing, comfortable retreat in the Scottish Highlands !!!

• "Absolutely gorgeous cottage the views /location are breathtaking, we would definitely stay again ."

  The only issue was lack of detail in cleaning bits were missed . Lamps in bedroom thick dust , as were the venetian blinds and tv needed a good clean when the sun shone on it . But saying that i’d still come back we throughly had an amazing time . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

• "Wow! What a fantastic location and beautiful apartment."

  Really well equipped and very comfortable. Comfy beds, great shower…..and nice gel. Fantastic spot to relax after a day on the hills. Sitting on the terrace and looking across the loch to the hills was a great spot for breakfast

• "Lovely place, comfortable and well equipped."

  Good location. Had a lovely time. The only criticism is that it could have been cleaner. There was dirt under one of the settees and cobwebs and dust in the hall way behind the umbrella container and in the twin bedroom down by the lockers. Having said this it did not stop us having a great time.

• "A good modern apartment which was well kept and clean."

  Wonderful view over the loch with chairs on the patio to soak up any sunshine you're lucky enough to get. Lots of hillwalking in the area and it was great to have a bath to soak those tired legs. A nice bonus was Netflix on the smart TV for those rainy nights. Would definitely recommend.

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Loch Lochy."

  Sumptuous furnishings, excellent facilities and a wonderful view of the loch and mountains. Very convenient for getting our and about and yet so peaceful too. We walked the local Munro hills and the apartment was the perfect place to recuperate at the end of an exhausting day. We intend to return as there’s so much more to do. Would definitely recommend.

  The apartment was so well equipped and absolutely spotless. The view is absolutely breathtaking and we enjoyed glorious sunshine every day. Sitting on the patio seeing the fighter jets going up Loch Lochy on a training exercise was a highlight of the holiday We will definitely be booking again.

• "10/10 for everything, where to begin!"

  Lochy Lookout is a stunningly decorated, clean, and comfortable apartment with incredible views, the perfect location, and a feeling of being the only one around for miles despite there being multiple other units. We could not have asked for better accommodation! We got lucky and ended up being one of few families staying at the time, so it was so quiet and peaceful, but even if all of the other units were taken we feel it would still be just as quiet and relaxing. We arrived to an incredible and uninterrupted panoramic view of Loch Lochy, and a packet of Tunnocks teacakes (funnily enough our favourite, thank you for this gesture!), there was plenty of space for clothes, with a wardrobe in each bedroom which is certainly rare! From the first moment we felt at home, and we were truly sad to leave. We have already booked for 2024! Pros: - The showers are amazing! - The view and decoration is breathtaking - It’s kept extremely clean - Everything is modern, plush, clean and user friendly - A logged in Netflix account and great tv variety - Well equipped kitchen - Comfortable sofas and beds - Dishwasher and washer/dryer, means we can bring less clothes next time! - Easily accessible parking where you can see your vehicle from the apartment - Great base to travel out from to see different places Cons (these in no way impacted our stay, it was possibly the best holiday we’ve had) - The washer dryer is quite loud when on spin - The hob was temperamental (easily avoidable if you bring food that just needs an oven/microwave) The only other con was that we had to leave! Thank you again to Georgie and Mike for a perfect stay in your beautiful part of Scotland, a place that feels like time stood still!

• "Excellent location, Spectacular view."

  We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The place had everything we needed. A well-equipped Kitchen, and a cozy living room with very comfy furniture. The apartment is excellently situated, at a short drive we could visit Ben Nevis, Fort William, and many other places of scenic beauty. It was very thoughtful of Mike and Georgie to arrange a Christmas tree and place it all beautifully decorated just before our arrival. Thank you Mike and Georgie for a memorable Christmas weekend.

• "The most amazing views never tired of the mountains the Loch wildlife just perfect ."

  Very beautifully decorated and comfortable and warm. It was good having two bathrooms. The walks from the cottage along the disused railway line seeing the deer was brilliant as was the walk down to Loch side. Parking space for one car right outside next to property . All good. If there was one point to mention that a bigger freezer would have been better with 4 adults staying. But apart it was a really pleasant time away with our family . Thank you

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Lochy Lookout and, in over ten years of self-catering holidays, would rate it as one of the best places we have ever stayed!"

  It is evident a great deal of thought has gone into every aspect of the apartment: the beds were wonderfully comfortable, the shower was powerful, the kitchen was very well-equipped with appliances and utensils of a high standard and the furniture and decor was tasteful and homely. The welcome gift of shortbread was much appreciated! I cannot write enough about the spectacular view! It was simply breathtaking, and the fact that the apartment is located in such quiet and peaceful surroundings meant you could relax and enjoy the scenes for hours. We were disappointed that the deer that so many previous visitors talked about in the guest book didn't make an appearance for us, but we did befriend a shrew who kept popping out from a hole to the left of the bird feeder outside. We also had regular visits from chaffinches and robins. The place proved a good base for exploring the Highlands, with Fort William, Ben Nevis, Fort Augustus and Loch Ness all within short drives. We would also recommend visitors take a drive around Loch Lochy; the ancient woodland on the other side was beautiful. All in all, an absolute gem of a place which we would definitely return to.

• "Lochy Lookout is exactly as described in the briefing part from the fact the views are even more spectacular in real life."

  The accommodation is perfectly situated for travelling to and from places of interest, especially if like us you wanted to cram as much into your holiday as possible. We ate in the apartment every evening and why not when it’s so well equipped. We know that we don’t have to transport so much on our next visit because the property is so well equipped to suit all of your needs. We definitely plan to return as soon as next year because this really is the most perfect place for staying at, and for staying in when you need to recharge! A light and area apartment, clean, tidy, well laid out. Brilliant kitchen and bathroom facilities, dishwasher, washing machine/ dryer, lovely warm showers, good quality soaps, it even has egg cups :-) all of this is welcomed and makes a difference, makes you feel cared about. A great base for visiting Isle of Skye, Inverness, Glencoe, Aviemore, the Cairngorms, Oban and only about an hours drive from the ferry over to Mull. We’ve already shared the information for Lochy Lookout with friends because I’d want them to experience the same good fortune that we have over the past two weeks. A lucky find for us, a pure gem, the perfect retreat when on holiday. Thank you for allowing us to stay at Lochy Lookout, it really was a treat!

  A great view from the living room to relax. Many shops for groceries in Fort William. As for site seeing many to see locally Fort William, Loch Ness, Fort Augustus and local attractions. Then further afield days trips out to the Isle of Syke, Fairy Pools, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Dunrobin Castle.

• "The property was OUTSTANDING."

  Everything that we could possibly need was there and catered for. The home was a lovely location, with stunning views and enabled us to enjoy our first family holiday together. We would recommend Lochy Lookout to everyone who wishes to visit Scotland. We used the cottage as a base and there were plenty of activities to keep us busy throughout our stay.
