The property

A fabulously stylish barn conversion, The Lost Barn is tucked away in the idyllic grounds of the former landed Figg-Hoblyn estate close to Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth.

The owners of this Grade II listed property have taken great care in tastefully transforming the barn into a luxurious holiday home, fitted and furnished to the highest of standards.

On the ground floor is a generous sitting room with plush sofa, chaise longue and two armchairs.

and dining area.

Elegant floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light.

Just off the sitting room, a well-equipped kitchen with sociable breakfast bar and range cooker provides a homely hub in which to prepare delicious family suppers.

Stairs lead from the sitting room to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom.

The bedrooms (one of which can be presented as either a super king or twin room) both boast beautiful high, beamed ceilings and unique pieces of antique French furniture.

In the bathroom, guests will find a freestanding Jacuzzi bath as well as a separate shower cubicle.

On sunny days, the property's terrace provides a lovely spot for a morning coffee; see if you can spot the Koi Carp in the ornamental pond.

Guests also have shared access to the property's orchard and paddock.

Blissfully peaceful and secluded, you are unlikely to see anyone else during your stay, perhaps only the property owners or guests of the adjoining barn, The Hideaway.

Out and about, this part of the county offers some fantastic surfing beaches, namely Watergate Bay, Fistral, Porth, Mawgan Porth and Holywell Bay, as well as some highly-acclaimed restaurants with famous connections.

Wax Watergate Bay restaurant at Watergate Bay enjoys a superb location just above the beach.

Choose to do as much or as little as you like at this beautifully magical retreat.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

WATERGATE BAY

Newquay 4 miles; Newquay Airport 1.5 miles.

The peaceful destination of Watergate Bay is home to a few cottages, a couple of hotels on the headland, a fantastic beachside bistro and an extreme sports/surf school, placing the bay in a class of its own. Viewed as one of Cornwall’s best surfing beaches, Watergate Bay also offers sand yachting, paragliding, kite surfing, cliff climbing, and abseiling. The area is a favourite with walkers, with the South West Coast Path extending west toward Newquay and east to Padstow, through some of the county’s most dramatic coastal scenery. Newquay, with its lively resort attractions, shops, bars, zoo and Sea Life Centre is just four miles away, whilst the picturesque town of Padstow, with its famous seafood restaurants and beautiful harbour area, make a great day out. The world-renowned Eden Project, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth and the Cathedral city of Truro, with its cobbled streets, restaurants, museums and theatre are all within easy reach, as are several stately homes and outstanding gardens. Peace and tranquillity are assured in this beautiful area with roaring surf, great beaches and much to see and do right on the doorstep.
