  • "Our second visit just 3 months after our previous visit."

We hope to return again this year. The cottage has every thing we could possibly need. This time we even used the slow cooker. We did not use the dishwasher (only the two of us) but we did use the washing machine and dryer discretely hidden in cupboards. The cottage was warm and comfortable with lovely views over the little river and the paddocks beyond. We would recommend the cottage to anybody but would really like to keep it a secret for ourselves!

The property

A beautifully presented cottage on the edge of Edwinstowe village, with good access to Sherwood Forest and the Peak District National Park.

This semi-detached property has been completely renovated in a reverse-level layout, providing a heart-warming accommodation to return to after a day tracking down Robin Hood and his Merry Men!

Accessed via a gentle ramp to the rear of the property, you enter into the spacious hallway with plenty of room to hang up your jackets and store away your shoes.

Discover the two tastefully furnished bedrooms, including a lavish double with en-suite shower room and a twin, which is serviced by the family bathroom with luxurious roll-top bath.

Head upstairs to find the large sitting room, housing a leather sofa and a multi fuel stove to curl up beside during those colder nights.

Outside is a pretty patio area where you can sit and enjoy a drink whilst listening to the river flow by and if lucky king fishers, the property also has fishing rights to the river.

There is also an enclosed area which offers a secure spot for children to play without access to the water.

The property has a nearby Trekking center which offers stabling and parking for a horse box, this is to be booked in advanced by contacting the owner for more details.

Mill Cottage is just a short walk to the village of Edwinstowe where you can browse a variety of shops and eateries, as well as a butcher’s, bakers and a supermarket.

Sherwood Forest and the visitor’s centre can also be found within walking distance from the centre of Edwinstowe, offering excellent cycle routes and paths, whilst Clumber Park and Rufford Park boast beautiful grounds to explore.

With plenty to see and do in the area, Mill Cottage would make for an excellent retreat, any time of year.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.
