"We had a fantastic week at Sea Star."

Great location for the all the facilities - in fact we did come straight out of our door and jumped in the harbour for a swim! The weather was perfect all week and we loved sitting outside and watching the world go by. The house had everything we needed. One complaint - it did need dusting!

It was clean, well appointed and the extra touches like the tray of scones, jam and cream were very welcoming and, after a long journey, very acceptable!

"Good afternoon Firstly the location is stunning and the weather was on our side ."

.very comfy beds and gorgeous quilts and pillows. Excellent that you provide extension leads in the bedroom for ease and convenience. The shower could be faster, it's very tricky but did the job. Shame we had to call numerous times for a towel change and the place was dusty on arrival, very dusty on the shelfs and the lower glass shelf with the shells on hadn't been dusted for weeks..but we sorted that. Overall a lovely stay Kind regards

I am in my late 70's and would appreciate these. It would not stop me from going there again, this is our 3rd time there and we love it.

"Beautiful cottage, perfect location."

There was absolutely everything we needed there, beautifully decorated, I would love to live there! So close to the shops, pubs etc and so many beautiful places close by to visit. We had the perfect holiday, one I will treasure.

"Sea Star is in prime position on the harbour front at Porthleven."

We watched the surfers off the quay, did some paddle boarding in the harbour and sea-kayaking with the seals off Porthoustock. The walks along the cliffs to the east and west are spectacular. Evenings are lively in Porthleven with numerous pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance around the harbour - and don't forget the Atlantic Inn up the hill behind the cottage. The sunsets are spectacular.

"We were told the bunk room was now a storage space but when there it was clearly still a bunk room, we had rented another property as well to accommodate our family but could have made do if we had known this!"

Also it was noticeable that the property wasn't quite so clean as previous years, dust and marks on the living room coffee table and some other surfaces and water splash marks all over radiator in bathroom. Also blood stains on bed sheet in first floor bedroom. We still had a lovely stay.

I just assumed it would be there - especially for the money we were paying - and it never occurred to me to check it. I have learnt my lesson. Wonderful location - within the house, lighting could be improved both upstairs and downstairs (for reading) and dining room area quite cramped

"Very cosy. Great space and really comfortable."

We arrived late on the first night and the property was really cold - it would have been great if the storage heaters could have been put on but things warmed up the next day. Extremely clean. Small details thought through. Very comfortable and the most amazing location.

"This was a lovely place to stay and we had a fantastic holiday."

Absolutely the best location possible in Porthleven and the house was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The beds and furniture were particularly great! The only things we thought might improve our stay even more would be WiFi, a tumble drier and extra towels. Other than that, everything was truly excellent and we thank you for a great holiday!

The lack of WiFi was not a problem as the phone signal was good so we could do the internet basics. The house is comfortable and well equipped, and the welcome pack was really thoughtful and appreciated - thank you.

"Firstly there is only one bathroom not two as advertised."

This wasn't a real problem for us as only three of us but for a property that sleeps eight? Very poor shower. Carpets and windows need a wash. This is still a nice property with great views and a great location.

"The key safe works with different numbers, There is a large stain on living room carpet, perhaps a washable rug would be an idea, And some lights where not working including the outside light."

Also, the bedrooms smelt a bit, I had to buy some Fabreeze! We love Sea Star and Porthleven, it's a little bit frustrating to have a few little complaints, everything else was great and welcome pack lovely, and house was clean.

"The property was lovely, well presented, nice décor and in a good location right on the harbour."

But the rooms themselves are really small and it definitely is not suitable for 6 adults. We were very disappointed that it was listed as having 2 bathrooms but one in fact is just a separate toilet. This left our family of 6 all sharing one bathroom, which was not ideal. The loft room was cramped and hot if you don't open the Velux window but if you do the light comes in at 4am. I would recommend the location and the property but only for less people. It's far too small for 6 people.

"The cottage was in probably the best position in Porthleven."

We have stayed in one of these cottages on numerous occasions. One of the double bed mattresses could do with improving and creaking floorboards. However, we would put up with all this just to be in such a wonderful place.

"Sheets don't quite fit the beds and ping off in the night."

.the deep mattresses need extra depth bottom sheets. Can't get subtitles on TV which was an issue for one of our party who has poor hearing.. Generally though, we loved the house and the location. It was our second time here and hope to come again. Lovely welcome pack and prompt attention when the TV remote wouldn't work.

"Great location, usually a parking space at front."

Ideal for access to cafes, restaurants and shops. Plenty of towels, hot water and basics in the kitchen. The DVD player on the TV didn't work sadly and the corkscrew was missing which was supplied by the landlady. The bins weren't emptied on Saturday as required, we assumed it was the wheelie bin that we had placed the black sacks in. But it wasn't clear in the book which bin to use. Landlady responded well to messages.

"Travelled from USA."

2 bulbs in the house had blown upon arrival, one in the bathroom one the bedroom. Had to take apart bathroom light fixture and replace the bulb with one from the bedroom. The tv did not work upon arrival. It would not power on. I checked the fuse box and that was fine. Disappointed, Tried to contact owner of the house to repair but got no answer

The top floor double bed is uncomfortable, maybe a mattress topper or new mattress would be a good investment. A washer/dryer or dryer instead of dish washer would be a good idea. Everything else and Holliday Fab

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Porthlevan is a wonderful place with lots to see and do on the doorstep. We all had a fabulous holiday with Sea Star provided the perfect base.

We had to go out immediately to buy some, not ideal after a long journey. Wifi too would have been nice and was surprised (once we had booked the cottage) that it was unavailable.

Porthleven is one of south west Cornwall’s hidden, coastal gems, located near Helston, famous for it's annual Flora Dance Festival.
