The property

Resting in tranquil private grounds on the outskirts of Keswick town, is this charming duplex apartment.

Boasting panoramic vistas of the encompassing lakes and mountains, South View is an idyllic base for a relaxing retreat to the Lake District National Park, at any time of year.

The kitchen/diner has been beautifully decorated with sophisticated tiled flooring and wonderful white cabinets, as well as hosting a sea of contemporary appliances such as an electric built-in oven, a hob and a dishwasher, helping you to whip up some tasty family meals for all to enjoy whilst gathered at the charming oak dining table.

Across the way, a grand yet welcoming sitting room offers a lovely light space to rest and recuperate, as you put your feet up on the floral fabric sofa or curl up into one of the plush armchairs and keep warm from the heat of the traditional gas fire.

Venture downstairs to the lower-ground-floor and discover a well-designed utility room and two spacious bedrooms comprised of a king-size with an en-suite shower room, and a twin with an en-suite bathroom.

You can also enjoy views of the encompassing countryside from the well-maintained communal gardens, as you delight in a relaxing stroll along the lawns.

Head into the centre of Keswick and indulge in a hearty breakfast at one of the many local cafés before taking a tour of the Derwent Pencil Museum, or admiring the quirky exhibitions of Puzzling Place.

Continue along the River Greta to the Keswick Museum, or cross the Derwentwater to the Lingholm Estate and experience an animal encounter like never before with Alpacaly Ever After.

Explore the English Heritage site of Castlerigg Stone Circle or set about on one of the thrilling hiking routes to the summit of Blencathra for sweeping views of the fells.

Head north to the Cumbrian manor of Mirehouse and Gardens or venture down to Lake Windermere and uncover exciting attractions such as Wray Castle, Hill Top and the popular World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.

Slightly further afield the town of Penrith makes for a fun day out, with historical landmarks such as the 14th century ruins of Penrith Castle and the Penrith and Eden Museum offering something for everyone.

For an unforgettable stay in Cumbria, choose South View as your fantastic base.
