"A wonderful cottage."
So peaceful and relaxing despite only being 15 minutes from the centre of York or just a 5 minute drive to the park and ride at Poppleton. We spent hours simply watching the rabbits and squirels in the garden or the ducks around the pond. The owners live in an adjacent property, they were really friendly and amenable. We certainly plan to go back.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. Comfortable, warm and with every facility, we had a wonderful time. Close to the coast, the Park and Ride for York and with such welcoming and friendly owners. Debbie and Barry were so helpful and looked us very well indeed. We would definitely return.

"Absolutely lovely relaxing stay and the hosts were very nice, helpful and informative."
The view from the lounge and kitchen was fabulous. There was milk in the fridge and a few teabags, coffee, sugar and biscuits. Not sure if I read the instructions correctly but would of liked a starter kit for the fire or would of brought our own. But the lovely hosts supplied us with a few logs, firelighters and matches at a cost of £10. There is a helpful information booklet. We recommend the Yorkshire Heart Vineyard it was amazing and the Alice Hawthorn Inn was lovely for lunch.

"We had a wonderful relaxing break at The Barn, it was so peaceful and the views across the countryside are lovely."
Nothing was too much trouble for Debbie and Barry who are the loveliest of hosts; we're grateful too to Becca for letting our 4 year old son help with feeding and grooming Alfie the Shetland pony, it was the highlight of our son's holiday.
The Barn is perfectly placed for easy access to the A59 so York, Knaresborough and Harrogate are easily reached. The facilities are very good and we felt at home straight away, especially on the large corner sofa, and the weather was warm enough to sit outside most evenings enjoying the peace and quiet of the large garden.
Our stay was everything we hoped it would be and we're looking forward to our return visit in 2023.

Barry & Debbie The owners are two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. If you would like peace, quiet and a relaxing holiday, this is the place to stay. Very clean, comfortable, roomy and in a beautiful location. Wildlife all around you. 10 mins drive in to York, Harrogate 25 mins. Could not fault anything about The Barn at Orchard Farm. The furnishings and all the thoughtful additions have been amazing. The owners on site have been wonderful, so friendly. This is the best holiday cottage we have ever hired!! It is in a great location being so closed to York but further enough out to be super peaceful. Watching the owners horses and meeting them has also been so lovely. I would thoroughly recommend this property. I very rarely post reviews but feel that I need to on this occasion.

"I booked The Barn at Orchard Cottage as a surprise for my partners 40th Birthday."
The Barn was absolutely beautiful. Total peace and quiet. Debbie and Barry were the perfect hosts, they made us feel like old friends. The only downside to the break, was having to pack up and so goodbye and go home. We will definitely be returning when we get the chance. Thank you so much Debbie and Barry.

We loved the country views and the quietness. Went out walking every day to various locations . The Barn is in an ideal location . We ate in the barn every evening which was very comfortable . After shielding for so many weeks this was a perfect break , we would definitely return without hesitation ,
Owners are on site but we found this an added bonus to ask for information , They are a friendly lovely family . They are there if you need them but at the same time they do not intrude on your stay .
