Glenwhan Lodge is nestled in the grounds of Glenwhan Gardens with unique and stunning sea views to the Isle of Man, Luce Bay and the Mull of Galloway.
Guests at Glenwhan Lodge are welcome to stroll through the gardens with its 17 acre moorland walk, the Ornamental Garden or follow the numbered tree trail where there is a large collection of rare trees, shrubs and many plants from around the Southern Hemisphere.
After your time exploring the Gardens enjoy a cup of tea and delicious home baking in the Garden’s Tea Rooms.
Further afield this delightful corner of South West Scotland is just waiting to be explored from the rugged coastlines with superb cliff top walks, breathtaking scenery around every corner, to secluded sandy beaches benefitting from the warmth of the passing Gulf Stream.
You will find golf courses and fishing fresh, water and sea, together with many unspoilt beaches.
The Galloway Forest Park is nearby with world class mountain biking and walking to suit all levels.
You can also find one of the UK’s first Dark Skies Parks in Galloway Forest.
There are many pretty little ports to visit nearby including Sandhead, Portpatrick and the Isle of Whithorn, as well as the RSPB Mull of Galloway nature reserve, where thousands of sea birds nest in the cliff face during spring and summer.
The sporting enthusiast is well catered for in the area from wild swimming, fishing, mountain biking at the nearby 7Stanes routes at Kirroughtree and water sports for all.
Golfers will equally feel at home in the area with Stranraer, Portpatrick, Lagganmore and just down the road is the "County" Golf Club, a true links course situated on the shores of scenic Luce Bay.

A stunning, historical village in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland. It offers all of your amenities including 2 hotels with bars, a bistro and a village shop, making it the perfect base for exploring this great region of Scotland. Glenluce is also home to the large Lady Stair Park with football goals as well as Glenluce Skate Part to keep the children busy. The Water of Luce separates the village from the 16th century Landmark Trust owned Castle of Park, now open to the public. Further north is the incredible Glenluce Abbey, 17th century ruins well worth a look. Glenluce is also home to the Wigtownshire County Golf Course. The town of Stranraer is just a short drive away with a range of amenities as well as a museum, memorial tower and a train station allowing you to explore even more of Scotland.
