"A truly gorgeous cottage."
Perfect in many ways, listed below….
Location - just a few minutes walk to Grassington square.
Comfort - bed and seating and good heating
Facilities- everything thought of and really well equipped.
Also lucky enough to have great weather for the week so did plenty of walking - Grass Wood, Hebden, Burnsall, Dales way to Kettlewell.
All creatures great and small also being filmed in the village- amazing how they change the look of it.
If we stop in Grassington again we’ll definitely stop at the Shippon.

"This is a wonderful cottage, a real home from home, and I didn't want to leave at the end of my stay!"
Extremely comfortable beds and lovely cotton sheets. Kitchen has everything you need to self cater, and nice to find a range of baking dish sizes - a steamer insert for the saucepans is the only thing missing (or I couldn't find). Off street parking a definite plus. Generous supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. Definitely a cottage to return to.

Really enjoyed the log-burner and the bird feeders outside the front window. Car parking was a major bonus as parking is difficult in the village even in November. Also we loved how close to all the village amenities the property was, but that it was in a quiet location with lovely views across the valley. Would love to return.

Comfortable beds and good quality bed linen. Cosy and comfy living room, spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space and a very well appointed kitchen. A few minutes walk to Grassington High Street with good pubs/restaurants and individual shops. "A beautiful cottage set in the heart of Grassington near to local shops, restaurants and pubs."
The property itself is excellent and well appointed to cover all of your needs. Beds were very comfortable as were the settees in the living room. Kitchen is well appointed with split level cooker and micro wave. Wood stove is available if nights become cold but central heating sufficed on our stay. Would certainly book again and highly recommend staying here.

A three minute walk and you're in the village. Lounge is very nice and loved the woodburner ! Bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious. Kitchen has all you need if you decide to eat in. Would have liked a small Christmas tree as we stayed the week before Christmas and missed ours !!

"The Shippon has it all."
The location is perfect, being a couple of minutes from The Square, but also being very quiet. The cottage has everything you could possibly need whilst away from home. Grassington is full of little coffee shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, and interesting individual shops. Such a bonus having it all so close. We will be returning.

"1 Hill Top Fold was a very comfortable house."
There was a great choice of books, DVDs, games and local information. Also there was lots of storage in the bedrooms and well-equipped kitchen. It was really well located in Grassington and there was room to park two cars off the road. A lovely place to stay.

The manual - emailed before and hard copy in the cottage - was the best we've seen. The owners were helpful with info beforehand. I'd got a broken wrist so they prepared the wood burning stove for us - but in the end we didn't need it because the cottage was lovely and warm.

The welcome gift of a bottle of wine and cake was a lovely surprise. We have stayed in Grassington before and it was nice to have parking.
The cottage is immaculate and has everything you would need for a very enjoyable stay.
The cottage is very spacious yet still manages to be very cozy. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this cottage.
Grassington is very pretty, especially during December with all the Christmas lights.

A welcome gift of wine and lemon drizzle was literally the icing on the cake! Parking in Grassington can be a nightmare so having our own space was a bonus. We had to postpone our stay by a year and Sykes were helpful in sorting this out.

Convenient for all the village amenities but tucked away. Ample off-road parking for two cars which is invaluable in Grassington. Immaculately clean and very cosy and warm for our autumn visit. The owners had seemingly thought of everything and had emailed to us all the information we needed well before we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

"This is at least third time I have been to this cottage and it never disappoints."
It is clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Ruth the owner has so got it right. Its like a home from home, The location is perfect, close to village centre and local amenities. Grassington is a lovely village, with a great range of restaurants. There are also footpaths in all directions within reasonable walking distance, two to four miles, and further if you are a hardened walker, and pubs/restaurants enroute for lunch. Our latest find was the Craven Arms at Appletreewick, fabulous food.

"Great place for lots of reasons
Only one suggestion, if rented for two nights would be good to have wood for the log burner for two nights as it was massively cold whilst there, had to go out to buy some and were heavy to carry back."

"The Shippon is a wonderful, cosy, spotless and well-equipped character cottage."
Parking for one car just outside the front door, which is rare in Grassington, and really helps with unloading bags from the car. The cottage is furnished beautifully, and the kitchen is full of quality crockery. Thoughtful touches include a book and DVD collection, puzzles and jigsaws, and a fire with enough wood to keep you going for a chilly night.

"I so loved this cottage, it was a joy to stay in."
It had everything in it to make our stay enjoyable - even provided bird seed to feed the birds, of which there were plenty. You could sit in the mornings in bed, with a cuppa, and look across the Moors. I picked Lilley of the Valley, from the garden, which filled the lounge with their lovely fragrance.

The cottage was clean, warm, beautifully furnished. It has outstanding views over the countryside. I was very well equipped and the owners seems to have thought of everything from a hand blender to a coffee grinder. I had taken my own just in case but these were necessary. I will certainly be returning again.

"We stayed at Shippon Cottage Grassington Yorks."
It was possibly the best so far in our dealings with Sykes.The only problem now is that all being well we have to book an overnight stay somewhere on route as the journey with a picnic break is approx. 6/7 hours which for us is very tiring. Age may wither us but the spirit is strong.

The weekend was the Dickensian Weekend which was lovely and even the weather was kind. Plenty of places to eat out on an evening or lunch time, but if you want a night in, what better place to spend it than the Shippon, so warm, cosy and homely. Would definitely stay there again.

Completely renovated, this Grassington cottage provides excellent holiday accommodation in one of the Yorkshire Dales premier destinations.
This Grassington cottage features a stylish kitchen with a partial glass roof, which brings a lovely bright and cheery feel to the whole room, whilst a side door provides access from the kitchen to the south-facing patio outside this Grassington cottage.
The spacious sitting room with lovely beams and a cosy woodburning stove is a delightful space to relax and unwind, and admire the views through the feature window across the outskirts of Grassington and to the hills beyond.
Upstairs, there is a large master bedroom with super king-size bed, a double room and a single, all offering good views across the village and surrounding countryside.

Grassington is one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Traditional stone cottages and shops are clustered around the cobbled market place, offering exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size, with a monthly farmer’s market offering a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce. Situated on the River Wharfe, with the extensive Grass Woods to the north of the village, this is a superb walking area. Down dale is Bolton Abbey with the Abbey ruins, the Priory and the famous “Strid Walk”. A little further is the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery. With many other beauty spots scattered throughout Wharfedale, Grassington provides a great base for exploring the local area and all that the Dales have to offer, with Brontë Country and York also being within easy motoring distance.
