The property
The White House is a premium, front row property, recently extended and refurbished to a very high standard, situated immediately above the popular surfing beach at Polzeath, Cornwall.
With direct access to the cliff path from the end of the private garden, with lawn, a covered terrace and a secluded barbecue area, The White House offers the perfect base for catching the glorious sunsets.
Every thought has been put in to making the internal accommodation as welcoming as possible, and sea views from almost every room makes this a perfect holiday property for friends and families alike.
With a contemporary, open-plan living space, utility, a shower room, and five bedrooms, four of which benefit from en-suites, there’s plenty of space to accommodate twelve guests.
The walk from the gate to Pentire Point and the Rumps (and back!) is one of the most fantastic in the whole of North Cornwall, whilst Polzeath beach offers a wide sandy beach strewn with rock pools, a must-visit on dry days.
For surfers, you are ideally positioned to get straight into the waves, and when returning to the house, there is the facility to wash off your wet suit with the external shower, before coming into the wet room; nearby surf schools offer lessons and equipment hire for all ages and abilities.
Just a short walk along the coast path takes you to the shops for your morning papers or for an ice cream and coffee in one of Polzeath's many cafes, whilst fantastic restaurants are also within walking distance.
A couple of miles away are the beaches of Daymer Bay, renowned for its sheltered azure waters, and Rock, that offers sailing and watersports galore.
At Rock you can catch the ferry over to Padstow to explore the bustling harbour, whilst in the other direction are Port Isaac, Port Gaverne and Port Quin.
These picturesque areas give visitors enough to occupy themselves for weeks, whether you play golf, love walking, enjoy watersports (swimming, kayaking, coasteering, spearfishing etc.) or just want to spend some quality time watching the world go by.
Escape as a family to The White House.
Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £400.
Where you’ll be staying
POLZEATH
Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.
The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
