The Castle is home to the descendants of the esteemed Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open from March to October. Bamburgh has other claims to fame, however, most particularly as the birthplace in 1815 of brave Grace Darling, who saved many lives from the wreck of the Forfarshire.
