With its mediaeval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol, and courthouse, it is also regarded as a significant destination for sailing. With a long history, Beaumaris still has a lot of its original mediaeval street layout. The town's environment, diversity of architectural styles and eras, variable scale, open spaces, different roofing, and overall quality all play a significant role in the character of the community. In addition to a golf course close by, the town offers a good assortment of stores, eateries, and bars, as well as options for boat trips and fishing.
