A little more information on Conwy

Although Conwy has been designated as a World Heritage Site due to its historical and architectural significance, the town's centre is a hive of activity. There is a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and hotels in addition to the many historical sites, musical performances, galleries, and festivals. Conwy Castle, constructed between 1283 and 1287 for King Edward I based on a design by Master James of St. George, is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of mediaeval military architecture. The narrow rocky outcrop the castle sits on likely influenced its peculiar, elongated design, which has two barbicans, eight enormous towers, and a large bow-shaped hall. Many of the town's long-standing customs, such as the Honey fair, Seed fair, and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October and other musical events held throughout the year, are held in honour of the community's rich history and are celebrated each year. Conwy is an excellent home base for excursions to nearby Snowdonia National Park, pristine sandy beaches, and breathtaking vistas. Surf Snowdonia is only a short drive away and the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, home to Europe's longest zip line, is also easily accessible.
