Located four miles south-west of Stow-on-the-Wold, Lower Slaughter is a small village in the Cotswold county of Gloucestershire, England. The settlement spans both sides of the slow-moving River Eye, which flows through Upper Slaughter and under two footbridges. A water mill built in the 19th century at the western edge of the settlement uses an undershot waterwheel and a chimney to generate steam. In the middle of the village, where the river widens, is a ford crossed by many small stone footbridges. St. Mary's Church, a picturesque structure, can be seen in Lower Slaughter.
