Hedon, a historic district with modern conveniences close by, is a great place to visit. Hull, the 2017 City of Culture, is just 7 miles from Burton Pidsea and is home to the wildly successful Truck Theatre and the fantastic The Deep aquatic centre. Seeing Hull's old commercial heart is a fascinating experience that reveals the city's rich history. Large, sandy beaches stretch from Spurn Point to Bridlington, and the Flamborough Cliffs, Bempton Marshes, and Spurn Point RSPB Reserves are all fantastic spots for birdwatchers. The wonderful historic City of York is only a short drive away, and neither is the horse racing at Beverley nor the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds.
