Carnon Downs is a delightful Cornish village with a shop, Post Office, and bar. The settlement of Portreath, with its sandy beach, is not far away, while the city of Truro and the popular town of Falmouth, as well as the north and south coastlines with their sandy beaches, are all within easy driving distance. A visit to Perranwell Station, where you may hire a Morgan automobile for the day, will appeal to classic car enthusiasts. Bissoe Bike Hire is also close in the Bissoe Valley, where you may rent a bike and cycle from Portreath to Devoran, taking in the sights of historic mine operations and beautiful wooded valleys, or simply enjoy a snack in the café. Truro, Cornwall's lone city, is home to a magnificent cathedral, the Royal Cornwall Museum, the Hall for Cornwall, a theatre and music venue, as well as a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants. Falmouth has a natural harbour, which is the world's third largest. Boat tours along the Carrick Roads, safe beaches, the National Maritime Museum, and Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII and the town's most popular attraction, are all available here. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, as well as Trelissick, Trebah, and Glendurgan, are all close by for garden lovers. The picturesque Roseland Peninsular is definitely worth a visit and is only a short trip across the King Harry Ferry. Carnon Downs is a good location for visiting this section of Cornwall, with the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Land's End all within driving distance.
