The nearby seaside towns of Deal, Dover, and Broadstairs all have castles, museums, heritage, and history to offer visitors, as well as quaint tea rooms. Deal has a pier and two weekly markets, with the Wednesday farmers' market being particularly popular with locals. Inland, Canterbury, with its cathedral, Roman ruins, and fine retail centre, is a popular day trip. This part of Kent is ideal for holidays at any time of year, with a promenade and cliff top walks, scenic cycle rides, golf courses, and breath-taking views from the shore.
