Situated on the edge of the village, Putham Barn is nestled neatly on the hillside, with the valley stretching out below. Guests can enjoy picturesque Exmoor walks directly from the property, and the village amenities are just under a mile away.
The property features a galleried bedroom upstairs with a double bed, while the living area has a sofa bed for flexible sleeping arrangements. Please note that the sofa bed is only suitable for children and not for four adults. The garden room provides a stunning view, and a new kitchen has recently been fitted. Downstairs, there is a shower room with a toilet and hand basin.
Guests have access to a small paddock in front of the cottage, and bed linen and towels are provided. The property also includes Wi-Fi, heating, and electricity, and smoking is strictly prohibited.
Please note that dogs are welcome but require prior arrangement, with a maximum of one dog allowed for a supplementary fee of £35. During certain seasons, dogs are not allowed. As the property is situated next to a working farm, guests must ensure that their dog is under control at all times, especially when livestock is nearby. Wheddon Cross is a village in the parish of Cutcombe on Exmoor, based around the crossroads; the roads run from north to south between Minehead and Dulverton, and east to west between Taunton and North Devon. The village is argued to be the highest on Exmoor, standing at 980 feet above sea level, and the highest point on Exmoor, Dunkery Beacon (1704 feet above sea level) is the focal point of the village. Dunkery Beacon is about three miles from the village, there are fantastic panoramic views from Dunkery; wild moorland to the west, the Bristol Channel and Wales to the north, the rolling Brendon Hills to the east and the Quarme Valley to the south.
