RSPB reserve Coquet Island is located a mile south of Amble and is home to several species of birds including terns, puffins, and eider ducks. Alnmouth and Craster, as well as a number of excellent beaches, are just a short drive away, as are the attractive towns of Warkworth and Alnwick, each with their own castles and charming, award-winning gardens, and the National Trust properties of Wallington Hall and Cragside.
