On the bank of the river Ericht, where it emerges from breathtaking gorges in Strathmore, is the red sandstone town of Blairgowrie. It's a perfect place to start exploring Perthshire and the stunning Angus Glens since it has superb stores, fantastic restaurants, and coffee shops. The hamlet is the major gateway to Glenshee, Scotland's largest ski resort, and is surrounded by rolling fields famous for their berries. The town is also overlooked by hills and mountains. The surrounding countryside provides the ideal setting for hill walking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and other outdoor activities. Rosemount Golf Course is only one of the top-notch facilities in the area for golfers. The championship golf courses of Carnoustie and St. Andrews, as well as Gleneagles, are all easily accessible.
