During the summer, strings of coloured lights illuminate the water that runs through the central town park and down to the sea. Dawlish is a great place for a family vacation because it has a nice sandy beach and a crazy golf course nearby. Dawlish Warren, farther up the coast, can be accessed by car, train, or a strenuous walk up the sea wall for the more active. Dawlish mainline station, located further away, offers train service to Exeter, Exmouth, Torquay, Paignton, and even Plymouth.
