Located smack in the middle of town on Main Street, the 14th-century Parish Church of St. Michael is the icing on the cake. The George Inn, located in the centre of the village, is a family-run pub. This dog-friendly pub sits across from the church and provides easy access to the stunning countryside of the South Hams from its outdoor seating areas. Approximately halfway between the thriving market town of Kingsbridge and the lovely town of Totnes is the quaint village of Halwell, nestled in rural woodland. There are weekly outdoor markets on Fridays and Saturdays in Totnes, which is home to a lively main street and a regular market. Every Tuesday morning during the high season (May through September), there is an authentic Elizabethan market.
