Old and calm St Dogmaels sits at the mouth of the Teifi River on the wild west Wales coast, a stone's throw from the ruins of its monastery. One of its main attractions is Y Felin, one of only two working watermills in Wales, which was constructed in 1820 and still uses the original machinery. The mill is believed to have been built by the monks of St Dogmaels' Abbey in the 12th-century. For a light lunch or a cup of tea with a slice of cake in the Coach House Café just a short walk away is a demonstration of how the mill works. Every Tuesday, there is an award-winning local produce market that is definitely worth a visit.
