The Brecon Beacons National Park borders this charming market town. With the Black Mountains, Crychan Forest, Cwm Rhaeadr, and the River Towey all waiting to be explored, this area is ideal for walking, fishing, and cycling. A climb up to the castle is a necessity because it offers panoramic views of the town and the nearby River Bran. The annual Sheep Festival, which takes place every September and honours droving, sheep farming, and the wool industry, is not to be missed. Llandovery is in a great location, with something for everyone right on its doorstep. A twenty-minute drive away, the village of Llandeilo is a charming market town with a unique assortment of gift shops, restaurants, and pubs, while visits to the mediaeval Dinefwr and Carreg Cennen Castles add to the allure. Explore the ruins of Talley Abbey, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, a number of mediaeval castles, as well as a wide range of gorgeous sandy beaches and the famed coastal route, all of which are within easy driving distance.
